Experienced Optimization Consultant

Quintiq is looking for a brilliant computer scientist or econometrician who is also an experienced business consultant to effectively perform software delivery projects.

Job Description
In this role you will design and implement client specific advanced planning and scheduling (APS) solutions based on the Quintiq software that plan, schedule, and optimize large manufacturing, logistics and workforce operations.
Quintiq is unique in its ability to achieve a 100% fit with the customer business through modeling, which enables consultants to exactly reflect all business logic details and optimization algorithms required for APS solutions in a wide range of customer and application environments.
Within all kinds of industries Quintiq is used for solving planning puzzles in order to achieve goals such as higher profit margins, reduction of inventories and increased delivery performance. Planning levels covered range from long-term, strategic planning to day-to-day operational planning and revision on the day of execution. Your ambition is creating APS solutions together with passionate colleagues and algorithms that work and delivering these to customers throughout China and Asia.

Job Requirements

• Strong affinity with and interest in solving puzzles
• High motivation and drive to achieve results
• Strong communicative skills, especially in an environment of top professionals
• Academic level in computer science, econometrics or similar
• High abstraction and analytic ability
• Experience in consulting and/or advanced planning and scheduling software implementations
• Experience with object-oriented modeling (UML), 3GLs (Java, C++, Delphi, Smalltalk, Eiffel) or 4GLs (G2, Aion, etc.)
• Knowledge of optimization techniques in operations research and artificial intelligence (linear programming, genetic algorithms, heuristic search techniques, constraint programming, etc.)
• Affinity with ERP systems to which APS solutions are typically integrated
• Sound judgment in software technology (.NET, XML) and databases (ODBC, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Energetic and flexible personality who can get work done
• Fluent in Mandarin reading, writing & speaking is a must
• Experience in the metal (steel, aluminum) or logistics industry is a plus
