• Nedcargo (formerly known as Van Uden Logistics)

Nedcargo (formerly known as Van Uden Logistics) specializes in logistics for food, wines and spirits.

The company’s operations revolve around its storage and distribution centers and extensive truck fleet. Nedcargo operates five major distribution centers, which are strategically located and cover an area of over 100,000 square miles.

All necessary services are offered here: Storage, stock management, order picking, and repacking and labeling of goods. In addition, Nedcargo deploys a fleet of 200 trucks, consisting mainly of isothermal trailers, tautliners and containers. Logistic services are divided into three categories: warehousing, distribution and transport.

Quintiq and Nedcargo worked together to develop a real-time multi-user planning system based on the Quintiq supply chain planning and optimization platform. The system calculates the effectiveness and consequences of every planning action, then gives each planner a complete overview of all relevant processes.

Everyone involved in the planning process is informed of those consequences in real time. The costs, advantages, distances and load distribution per planning modification are visible to each planner. A central planning system optimizes and adjusts the handling of cargo.

The system empowers Nedcargo to achieve its primary objective of using its Dutch warehouses as effectively as possible.
One of the deciding factors that led us to choose Quintiq was the fact that Quintiq's technology is well able to handle our multi-warehousing situation.

In addition, it's the flexibility of the software that enables us to develop a solution that meets all our specific requirements.
