Liquid Bulk Terminals
Liquid bulk terminals (oil, chemicals, fuel, gasoline) are similar to dry bulk terminals but have a complex pipeline infrastructure with different types of tank in the yard.
Quintiq capabilities:
- Smart and faster terminal navigation from ship to tank and vice versa
- Optimal use of jetties and pipeline infrastructure at the terminal
- Minimization of contamination risk by taking into account last product transfers per pipe
- Automatic planning and rescheduling of ships to berths including all required berth pipes, arms, collectors, valves, and infrastructure pipelines up to the tank connection
- Accurate and centralized information to take better decisions
- Uniform way of planning across shifts enabling process optimization, and quality and safety improvements
- Able to run what-if scenarios to execute simulations (what if new quay, new tank or new contract will be added to our network, and what is the impact)
- Tactical planning will help capacity planning and see the impact of demand/supply fluctuations on the infrastructure (constraints by propagation)
- Maintenance can be planned in advance by calendar so when defining the optimal terminal transport path the system will take maintenance slots into account (show alerts and suggest alternative routes)
- A multi-user and real-time allocation system ensures that accurate information is always available also for the next shifts/gang, off-site or at headquarters
- Fast learning curve so less experienced colleagues can be assigned to plan tasks
- Historic and actual planning data can be shared with customers
- Modifications to infrastructure or to operational process can be done in the system by the user
