OTTO Work Force selects Quintiq planning system

August 20, 2009 | 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands
OTTO Work Force, Europe's largest international employment agency, has selected Quintiq as the platform for its new planning solution. By 2010 OTTO will be using the system to support the deployment of more than 3,000 temporary workers from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the logistics, industrial and engineering sectors. It will use the new environment to plan resources more efficiently, while also organising accommodation and transporting temporary staff to and from their work. OTTO will thus have a better ability to capitalise on its customers' short and long-term labour needs. Forecasting and reporting also form part of the project's scope.

OTTO's main objectives are to increase customer and employee satisfaction and to improve the efficiency of its internal organisation. This is possible, among other things, by cutting back transport, accommodation and overhead expenditure. Because OTTO's existing planning system was inadequate for future efficiency gains, the company decided to seek an alternative solution.

After a thorough evaluation of planning software suppliers, OTTO Work Force opted for the Quintiq platform. The flexibility and reliability Quintiq offers proved crucial in the decision.

"The Quintiq solution is capable of applying a large number of specific rules. Effective and efficient planning can thus be created through a largely automated process. We think this will let us increase our performance substantially and improve our competitive edge," comments Arjen Kuneman, COO of OTTO Work Force.

Quintiq will begin implementing the solution this month, with completion due in 2010. As part of the project, Quintiq will also integrate its planning system into OTTO Work Force's existing SAP environment, and it will create links to OTTO's tailor-made recruitment system (PARIS) and CRM application.
