Quintiq marks significant presence with the official launch of its Global Development Centre and Regional HQ for South East Asia

Quintiq, a global leader in delivering Advanced Planning and Scheduling; and Supply Chain Planning business software solutions today launched its Global Development Centre and Regional HQ for South East Asia. The event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Mukhriz Mahathir, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry. Also present at the event was Dr Victor Allis, Chief Executive Officer of Quintiq.
Speaking at the event, Dato’ Mukhhriz said, “The Malaysian government has continuously aligned its focus and economic strategies in attracting higher value-added investments in contributing to the long-term development of the economy and to creating higher paying jobs. It is for this reason that the Government applauds the efforts of multinationals like Quintiq in not only creating an avenue for local talents to explore and grow in niche technology markets but also in offering the tools for companies to improve their productivity and achieve economies of scale.”

To date, Quintiq has invested approximately RM50 million in its operations in Malaysia with more investments expected to continue moving forward. Today, with the official launch of Quintiq’s offices, we’re glad to announce plans to invest close to RM100 million over the next 3 years in expanding our operations right here in Malaysia”, said Dr Victor Allis, CEO of Quintiq.
He added, “Though our market reach spans over 74 countries worldwide, our primary business focus for Malaysia is not only limited to its functions as the regional head office for South East Asia but also as the Global Development Centre. We do not only address the growing market opportunities throughout the region but we also develop Quintiq’s industry solutions and deliver projects for customers all over the world. Put simply, that’s how significant our operations are right here in Malaysia.”
In less than 4 years now, the Company has employed more then 100 people here in Malaysia and this number is expected to increase to over 130 by the end of 2010. Quintiq expects to grow to 300 people by 2013 with greater emphasis in recruiting local talents.
