COO Arjen Heeres to speak on fatigue risk management
Quintiq, a global leader in Supply Chain Planning and Optimization (SCP&O) software, announced today that it will exhibit at the first World Air Traffic Management (ATM) Congress in Madrid on February 12-14, 2013. Hosted by Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) at IFEMA Feria de Madrid, the World ATM Congress Conference has been created as a venue for the world’s top aviation leaders to discuss the industry’s key issues. Fatigue risk management is an increasingly important topic which will be addressed by Quintiq Chief Operations Officer Arjen Heeres in his presentation, “Using Workforce Planning Systems in Managing Fatigue Risk”, on the second day of the conference.
Quintiq’s Air Traffic Control (ATC) workforce planning and scheduling solution is used by a growing number of Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) who are looking to solve their scheduling puzzles in fatigue risk management, rostering, operations, training, and more. Quintiq estimates that today, more than 35% of the world’s airspace is in the hands of ANSPs utilizing Quintiq’s SCP&O solutions.
“As supporters of CANSO and as members of their workgroups, Quintiq is pleased that the ATC community is coming together to exchange views on how to improve the business,” said Heeres. “We are familiar with the problems that come with planning under pressure. Along with the International Federation of Air Tra¬ffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA), we believe that managing air traffic control officer (ATCO) fatigue is a crucial element in today’s ANSP planning operations. We have assisted several ANSPs on solutions which enable them to conduct their businesses safely and cost-efficiently by optimizing their strategic, tactical and operational workforce planning, and I look forward to sharing our experiences at the conference.”
Heeres’ presentation will take place Wednesday, February 13 at 3.15pm on the Spotlight Stage. Quintiq will welcome visitors at booth #1051 in the World Congress Exhibition Hall.
