Incitec Pivot Fertilisers to optimize planning and production with Quintiq

June 16, 2015 | Melbourne

Quintiq announced today that Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) selected Quintiq, a global leader in supply chain planning and optimization (SCP&O) solutions, to optimize its planning and production processes for implementation into the Incitec Pivot Fertilisers (IPF) division.

IPL, a global manufacturer of explosive chemicals and fertilisers, is Australia's largest supplier of fertilisers, dispatching around 2 million tonnes each year for use in the grain, cotton, pasture, dairy, sugar, and horticulture industries. Intending to replace a legacy distribution requirements planning (DRP) solution, IPF sought a solution that would support continued progress towards integrated business planning (IBP). Quintiq will offer IPF the ability to evaluate complex scenarios and to use what-if planning to test the viability of network and supply chain options.

Don Briggs, VP Global Supply Chain at IPL, said: “The successful implementation of this project will see the Fertilisers Business transform its planning capability. We look forward to working closely with the Quintiq Team to deliver the projects objectives.”

Paul Shepherd, Quintiq ANZ Business Unit Director, said: “Our partnership with Incitec Pivot Limited is yet another example of how Quintiq is helping organizations within the manufacturing industry become even more successful in a competitive environment. Our unique software solution and in-depth understanding of the industry will underpin Incitec Pivot’s planning decisions and enable them to move towards optimized production and high standards of customer service and satisfaction.”
