Quintiq, a Dassault Systèmes brand and global leader in supply chain planning and optimization (SCP&O), is set to lead the way in redefining how companies approach and manage their supply chains in the next decade.

Gartner 2017

Speaking today at the keynote session entitled ‘Mastering complexity: Planning and optimization in the digital age’, Rob van Egmond, CEO Quintiq, Dassault Systèmes, highlighted the fast-growing role of supply chain planning and optimization in light of the rapid changes brought about by recent technological, regulatory and environmental changes.

“The digitalization of industries in recent years has provided tremendous opportunities for companies to create and capture value, but not without consequences. With increasingly short product lifecycles, demanding customers and diverse markets, it is getting harder for companies to maintain growth,” said van Egmond. “Mastering this new level of supply chain complexity is key and will require a new approach ― one that does not seek long-term planning certainty, but rather, the split-second agility to adapt and evolve when the unexpected happens.”

The supply chain of the future will be more connected, intelligent and sophisticated. And companies are fast adopting new methods and strategies to stay competitive

The Quintiq integrated planning solution was designed around this approach and is the culmination of nearly two decades of research and development. It combines a host of technologies such as predictive analytics, optimization and cloud-based services on a single system to enable an end-to-end planning experience. To date, the company holds the world record for 183 vehicle routing, pick-up and delivery, and scheduling optimization problems.

“Through the years, we have helped industry leaders such as Walmart, Brussels Airport and DHL Express take steps in improving their operations. For example, we developed a dynamic route planning solution that helped DHL reduce tour duration by 8% and mileage by 15%. And we helped Brussels Airport reduce the number of complaints from airlines by 90%,” said Rob van Egmond. “The supply chain of the future will be more connected, intelligent and sophisticated. And companies are fast adopting new methods and strategies to stay competitive.”‘Mastering complexity’ will continue to be the theme of the Quintiq World Tour, the company’s annual conference series, in September.
