Alu Menziken selects Quintiq and Maul & Partner in corporate wide deal

('s-Hertogenbosch, 5 July 2002) Alu Menziken, leading manufacturer of aluminum products, today announced that it has selected Quintiq and Maul & Partner for the implementation of Advanced Planning & Scheduling software for all its facilities in Switzerland and the USA.

In the first phase of the project the new extrusion line will be optimally planned in its factory in Reinach, Switzerland. The new line will be operational in September. The planning of the existing extrusion plant with in total 6 presses, added value activities, anodizing and the powder coating will follow in the next phase which will be finished April 2003.Goal is to integrate the entire supply chain from die manufacturing to shipping. In the next phases the other factories based in Switzerland and in the United States will start the implementation.

The benefits for Alu-Menziken, through a more efficient planning with Quintiq, will be increased productivity of extrusion and added value activities, improved transparency, a better delivery performance and a shorter response time to customers by an optimization of the whole supply chain.
