CARe live with Advanced Planning and Scheduling from Quintiq

('s-Hertogenbosch, January 15th, 2002) Today CARe, the automobile body-shop chain of companies, announced going live with advanced planning and scheduling software from Quintiq. The development of the system is part of the TUNe project. TUNe contains a central planning system for the reception and workshop areas. The system enables the CARe branches to outsource collision-repairs to each other within the chain. The goal is to eventually have all 45 branches in the Netherlands work with the system.

Customers of CARe can be served more efficiently by realizing a distribution of work-orders among the branches. It is now possible to send the collision-repairs to the branch with the shortest waiting time. Another big advantage is the ability to inform the customer better and more quickly concerning the repair of the car. This will result in an improvement of the delivery performance.

Hugo Pietersz, Managing Director of CARe comments: "Using the Quintiq planning software we can realize a work-order distribution between our 45 branches. This will considerably improve our customer service level to the insurance companies as well as to the actual driver of the car".
