Prymetall chooses Quintiq for optimal planning efficiency

Mannheim , November 30, 2004 – Quintiq, a provider of company-wide solutions in Advanced Planning, Scheduling and Supply Chain Optimization, has signed a contract with Prymetall GmbH & Co. KG Stolberg to increase the efficiency of planning processes throughout the entire company. The implementation of Quintiq’s scheduling solution enables the leading European manufacturer of semi-finished copper and copper alloy products to coordinate the various production stages and enhance their efficiency.

 Thanks to a comprehensive planning of processes in three Prymetall production units – foundry, rolling mill and drawing plant – the manufacture of Prymetall’s products at the Stolberg works will become faster, simpler and safer. For the company this implies optimized utilization of the production means and facilities, a distinct reduction in stock levels, shorter lead times and greater delivery performance.

The transparent real-time scheduling solution from Quintiq, which is integrated into the existing process control system, means the degree of coordination required between the individual planners can be drastically reduced. Whereas the planning currently involves several weeks of preparation with constant manual adjustments, it will in future be automatically coordinated and adapted to the actual conditions at any given time.
