Quintiq opens for business in the United Kingdom

Launch spearheaded by leading figures in the European metals and logistics industries

(LONDON - 26th May, 2004) Quintiq, a leader in delivering enterprise wide, state-of-the-art advanced planning, scheduling and supply chain optimisation solutions, today opened its UK operation. Quintiq Limited is Quintiq’s second international office outside of its Netherlands base and its goal will be to help customers reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve bottom-line results. The organisation will also mirror its parent by offering specialist solutions in both the logistics and metal industries.

The organisation will be led by Malcolm Johnstone in the role of Country Manager and Business Director Logistics. Malcolm is a 30-year veteran of the transportation and logistics industry and he has extensive operational experience with global 3PL players such as Exel and Geodis. Malcolm has worked on a wide range of projects, from retail to manufacturing and home-delivery to freight exchanges. Most recently, Malcolm was at supply chain software manufacturer Manugistics where he held European responsibility for the transportation & logistics group.

Joining Malcolm is Mike Harrison, a specialist in the manufacturing and metals sectors, who joins Quintiq as International Director. Mike has over 20 years consultancy experience in these industry sectors, advising clients about manufacturing control and helping install and implement the most appropriate software solutions to enable them to achieve their business goals.
