Rutges Cargo selects Quintiq for transport planning and execution
('s-Hertogenbosch, April 5, 2004) Rutges Cargo, a subsidiary of Wim Bosman, has decided to implement an advanced scheduling and planning system by Quintiq. For Rutges Cargo this is a pilot project on the use of Quintiq technology for the further improvement of transport planning and execution within the Wim Bosman Group. Quintiq will plan all available transport orders and track the execution of daily operations.
Bauke Felix, Managing Director at Rutges Cargo: "Quintiq enables us to increase the amount of productive kilometers as well as improve our customer service, which significantly advances our competitive position.”
Rutges Cargo is an air cargo specialist, counting many major air cargo operators among its customers. Planning takes place in seven locations throughout Europe. Making this complex planning process more transparent as well as more effective and reducing factors that are prone to errors are the objectives in the implementation of Quintiq. In addition, better and faster communication should lead to a higher service level for the customer.
Rutges Cargo also needs insight in expenses and a method of cost control, for both management and basic sales and planning. By making intelligent use of company goods, such as trucks and trailers, Rutges Cargo should be able to improve customer service and at the same time reduce costs. Planners as well as management should have a clear overview of the results of operations in past, present and near future.
Unisys Consulting (former KPMG Consulting) from Belgium will implement the project. Unisys is a strategic Quintiq partner and specialises, among other areas, in transport and logistics.
