Home care organization Icare selects Quintiq and ELMO ICT Solutions Meppel/’s-Hertogenbosch, Februari 2, 2005 – The Icare Foundation is to use Quintiq planning software and mobile solutions from ELMO ICT Solutions to seamlessly match the care requirement of clients to the available care capacity. The Quintiq planning solution will enable Icare to match the services of some 3,500 carers across its entire working area rapidly, efficiently and automatically to its clients' care requirements. Quintiq's partner on the project is ELMO ICT Solutions, which is providing the link with the back office systems and the exchange of planning and registration data with the mobile users over MobiCare. Icare Project Manager Wim Tromp says that the Quintiq software contributes significantly to the aim of providing the highest quality of care and services. “Planning in home care is a complex affair because of the many variables involved, ranging from the various competencies of staff to a whole spectrum of working time agreements. The Quintiq and ELMO system will enable us to calculate all these variables into the planning, helping us not only to work more efficiently, but also to improve the quality of the care.” Icare selected Quintiq and ELMO ICT Solutions after an extensive survey of the market. The decisive factor in favour of Quintiq was the flexibility of the Quintiq software, which makes it simple for Icare to incorporate its own planning system and models. ELMO ICT Solutions is the market leader in mobile applications in the care sector, in which it has built up considerable expertise. Icare sees the new system as a vehicle for professionalizing its planning. The existing approach will be replaced by a single logistics centre and sixty planners. The home care organization expects to cut down planning costs and to raise the level of utilization and productivity of staff to new levels. The Quintiq planning software is to be phased in starting in the summer van 2005. In the initial stages, handheld devices will be used for recording care activities over MobiCare.
