Quintiq Teams with SAP

Walldorf/'s-Hertogenbosch - September 9, 2005 – Quintiq, a provider of planning, scheduling and supply chain optimization software today announced it’s working closely with SAP AG to co-develop a joint solution designed for media companies in the broadcasting segment across the globe. The companies will develop a composite application for flexible planning of staffing and production resources in TV and radio production, postproduction and playout control. This solution will be based on the Quintiq standard workforce deployment industry solution and other enterprise services in the mySAP Business Suite.

Quintiq’s real-time workforce planning application suite achieves the most cost-effective and productive match between operational requirements and available personnel resources by avoiding unnecessary overtime, scheduling errors or last-minute call-ins.  By making optimal use of each employee's skills, availability, productivity and constraints, as a contingency for planning errors no extra resources need to be scheduled, thus enabling organizations to save time, reduce labour costs and increase customer satisfaction levels.

By integrating the workforce planning application suite in various SAP solution environments - such as production planning in mySAP Supply Chain Management (mySAP SCM), production order management and internal activity allocation, with equipment management sourcing, HR and SRM applications for planning internal and external resources - broadcasting industry customers will be able to leverage their existing workforce management solution.

The application will be marketed as a partner composite as well as a part of the SAP media solution for broadcasters. Quintiq will own the actual composite application.
