De Omring selects Quintiq for employee and care planning

's-Hertogenbosch/Hoorn, February 13, 2006 – Home care organisation De Omring will use the Quintiq Home Care Planning System for planning its home care activities as well as the duty rosters in some of its rest homes. Earlier, Vivent in Den Bosch, Home Care Rotterdam, Home Care Noord-Limburg and Icare in Overijssel and Drenthe decided to implement the Quintiq Home Care Planning System.

For the project at De Omring, Quintiq will cooperate closely with its partners Databalk and Elmo. Databalk with its expertise in health care is the main contractor for the project, and Elmo will deliver its solution for mobile registration.

The implementation of the Quintiq planning software supports De Omring’s aim to be prepared for future developments, including demand-driven care, remote care, a national Electronic Patient File and increasing competition between care suppliers. These developments require an efficient care system.

De Omring is the largest care group in West-Friesland (Noord-Holland) with almost 3,500 employees. De Omring has three care homes with around 580 beds, nine rest homes and three living units with approximately 460 clients. In addition, it offers home care, child and youth care and other services. Every month, De Omring offers extramural care to more than 4,000 clients.

De Omring will use the Quintiq system for planning the activities of its 2,000 care workers in home care and its rest and care homes. When planning home care employees, a large number of variables play a role: a regularly changing demand for care, a large number of employees with different competencies and contracts, and legislation and union agreements. All these variables influence the planning of workers. With the Quintiq planning software, an organization can take all these variables into account when making a workforce plan. The built-in intelligence not only takes into account all the variables, but also calculates the consequences of any disturbance in the planning. This ensures optimal flexibility of the complex planning process.

The new solution is expected to be operational in the summer of 2006.
