Emons Group Selects Quintiq Planning Solution

Quintiq system to support organizational growth

's-Hertogenbosch, August 1, 2006 – After an extensive selection process, the Emons Group in Milsbeek has chosen to implement the Quintiq advanced planning software. After implementing the software, Emons expects to improve the support of its organization’s growth. As a logistics service provider, Emons is active in specific market areas and has branches in several European countries.

“As a result of our organization’s growth, we were forced to look for a new software environment for our planning activities,” comments G. Welbers, the Financial Director of the Emons Group. “After a thorough analysis of possible software packages, we decided on a Quintiq planning solution. Important reasons were the ability to customize the software and Quintiq expertise in the transport sector. The Emons Group is active in very specific markets. This requires an extremely flexible planning, and we need very flexible planning software that can easily be customized to our wishes and requirements. Quintiq was the most suitable for us. In addition, various well-known colleague companies have successfully implemented the Quintiq software. These positive references were also an important reason for us to select Quintiq.”

Emons will deploy the Quintiq software in all its transport divisions. In addition, the software will be integrated with all company’s other subsystems used to control the various business divisions in the European countries in which Emons is active. The Quintiq planning software will take up a central role in this integrated solution.

The Quintiq software sets itself apart from other planning solutions by its native intelligence. During the implementation, all the relevant data is entered into the system, varying from employees and their specific know-how and skills, up to available equipment, legislation and employee preferences. On the basis of this data the planners can create their plans. The consequences of possible disruptions are calculated immediately, after which the planner is able to take action. In this way, Quintiq contributes to improved efficiency and a better use of people and resources.

Emons, Quintiq and Quintiq implementation partner Unisys will start the implementation in the first division of the company on August 1. The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2007. By that date, the two transport divisions of the company will be able to use the Quintiq software.

“We are delighted with Emons’ selection of our Logistics Planner Industry Solution,” comments Joachim Arts, Business Unit Director Logistics at Quintiq. “This selection highlights our strong positioning in the transport sector, where various Dutch carriers are already using our software to support their national and European activities.”
