Quintiq Introduces Logistics Planner 4.0
Logistic sector profits from fast and cost-effective implementation
's-Hertogenbosch, Augustus 17, 2006 – Software provider Quintiq introduces Quintiq Logistics Planner 4.0, a completely renewed version of its planning solution for the logistics market. Version 4.0 features new functionality, which further enhances the transparency of processes and which enables faster delivery of information. Quintiq Logistics Planner 4.0 provides amongst others standard interfaces for on board computers and ERP/TMS systems, enabling fast implementation. In addition, customers can optimize cross-docking, by directly forwarding products in the supply chain, instead of storing them in distribution centres. A variety of different logistics organizations save valuable time by using Quintiq Logistics Planner 4.0 and are able to react much faster to different needs in the field of planning.
The capabilities of Quintiq Logistics Planner 4.0 are dramatically enhanced. This includes continuous parallel optimization, enabling a customer to take into account a number of variables, including cost structures, delivery time, load levels and customer priorities. In addition, what if scenarios can be taken into account, which, for example, can calculate the consequences of delays in a specific part of the supply chain.
Users in the logistics sector also profit from other enhancements in version 4.0. As internal storage is enhanced with declarable data and structures, users can quickly start working (again) after the system has been (re)started. Thanks to robust interfacing, the planning process can go on undisturbed even when external data systems are not available. The server is able to do large calculations in the background while the normal planning process is continued simultaneously.
Boudewijn Kooijman, Technical Director Logistics at Quintiq: “The new standard functionality, developed on the basis of continuous R&D, and the faster implementation capabilities of our Logistics Planner 4.0 offer a wealth of additional user-friendliness. In addition, the new scenario capabilities provide customers detailed insight in the consequences of different planning decisions.”
