Implementation Consultancy

Quintiq and Quintiq partners provide world-class implementation consultancy, and education services designed to enable rapid deployment in and to increase your knowledge of the Quintiq solution. Our cost-effective services help you deploy new technology, optimize your applications, and enhance your ability to use our products in your environment.

Quintiq has developed a standard project methodology: the Quintiq Project Life Cycle, or QPLC.  Through the years and numerous successful Quintiq Implementation Projects, Quintiq has been able to identify the principles that determine the success of a project and developed a standard project methodology called the Quintiq Project Life Cycle, or QPLC. Underlying the QPLC Methodology is a number of important principles that can be summed up by two key words: Quality and Efficiency. It is through this focus on quality and efficiency that Quintiq is able to achieve a 100% fit for its customers.

Preparation Phase (~1-2 weeks)

The objective of the Preparation Phase is to ensure that the project launches according to the principles of the QPLC Methodology. The project teams, customer as well as Quintiq, are formed and should understand the principles of the QPLC, the commitment required and processes involved for the success of the project. This is achieved by organizing a Project Kickoff Meeting, including an Overview Training of Quintiq. Also an Analysis Questionnaire is answered to prepare for the next phase.

Analysis Phase (~5 weeks)

During the Analysis Phase, a Quick Start Analysis is conducted in which all topics of the project (scope, details and solutions) are discussed at multiple levels – high level down to detailed. The goal of this phase is to gain a detailed understanding of the solution to be created and to outline it in a document called the Quintiq Business Analysis (QBA). It is critical that communication lines are open during this phase and that the right people are involved as the QBA will serve as a guideline that will govern the end product. Another essential element is identifying the KPIs that correspond to planning decisions, which contribute most to the business goals.

Modeling Phase (~4 weeks)

The goal of the Modeling Phase is to create the first complete version of the Quintiq model for the customer and for the customer to develop a detailed plan to test the model. A 70% version of the model is built based on the QBA. Although it takes into account 100% of the functionality outlined in the QBA, it is referred to as a 70% version as the model will, upon rigorous testing, inherently need fine-tuning and further development. This approach, using a 70% prototype model, has proven to be valuable to the customer as it is more effective and easier to assess the solution through actual interaction with it versus assessment via a static document. This 70% model is a unique element of the QPLC as Quintiq recognizes the need for rigorous testing (Iterative Development) and it is through that that a sound solution can be built.

Iterative Development Phase (~6 weeks)

The objective of the Iterative Development Phase is to transform the 70% system (ready for testing) into a 95% system (ready for live usage). This is the core of the QPLC and requires heavy involvement from the customer. Through continual testing by key-users, carefully following the test plan compiled during the Modeling Phase, issues are identified and resolved. The turnaround time from the point of identifying an issue to resolving it is quite short (usually less than two days), as the Quintiq software facilitates this very well Final tests in terms of the operational setting, including testing performance and integration, are also performed.. It is only through this rigorous testing and daily use that the 70% model can be transformed into a solid 95% system that can be used in a live situation along with experienced key-users.

Implementation Phase (~4weeks)

The goal of the Implementation Phase is to go live with a working and operational Decision Support version of the system. During this phase, passive and active parallel tests are performed to ensure that the Quintiq rules are correct and that there are no significant anomalies. Once the parallel testing proves successful, the Go-live Procedure is executed.

Optimization Phase (~4 weeks)

The purpose of the Optimization Phase is to further optimize the system; to facilitate better, improved plans in a shorter amount of time. This phase is executed few months after the Decision Support system first goes live, so that there is ample time for the system to be utilized by the users and the KPIs to be stabilized and measured. Improvements on the manual, semi-automatic and automatic usage of the system are addressed in this phase and expectations of the optimized solution are set and fulfilled.

Every step of the way, both Quintiq and the customer are in close contact; as building a solution that is a 100% fit to one’s operation is a collaborative effort rather than an individual one. The QPLC Methodology is instrumental in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the solution, as well as, ensuring each team involved understands their role and responsibilities.
