Quintiq Specialist Demo Challenge
Extend your Modeling Skills and Build an Advanced Planning Application
The QS Demo Challenge simulates the process of developing a customer-specific demo of a Quintiq planning application. The participants will get their assignment and case description after registration and will independently build a demo application. On the first day, a whiteboard and planning session is organized. On the last day, all participants will present their applications.
The QS Demo Challenge builds on the skills learned during the Quintiq Developer Training and effectively prepares Quintiq Specialist for taking part in an actual Quintiq project. Topics that will be addressed during the Demo Challenge include:
- Specification of business logic
- Design of the GUI
- Modeling style
- Planning and scoping a demo
The QS Demo Challenge is part of the process of becoming a certified Quintiq Specialist.
An experienced Quintiq consultant will be available to coach the participants and evaluate their results.

Developers of planning applications (Quintiq Specialists).
Prerequisites
Participation in the Developer Training is a strict prerequisite for this training.

Training Overview
Day one - The Model Kick-off
A whiteboard session takes place that results in the OO model, which lays the foundation for the modeling work during the rest of the week. After the whiteboard session, a planning session will be held, resulting in a clear statement of work, described as a list of functionalities to be implemented (including an estimate of the time needed to implement it).
In the afternoon, participants will start modeling their planning application.
Day two and three - Building a basic planning application
During these two days participants will model all functionality that was identified in the planning session in the first day. At the end of day three, Pre-Demo Sessions will take place. All issues that are discovered during the Pre-Demo, will be recorded in the Issue List. These issues will be critically reviewed and prioritized.
Day four - Improving the planning application
On day four, the issues recorded in the Issue List will be fixed in the planning application.
Day five - Presentations
All participants will present their application and the Quintiq consultant will give feedback on the results.
