Mr. Harald Kroener, speaker of the Executive Board at Wieland comments: "With Quintiq we aim to improve our customer service levels and at the same time reduce cost through a more efficient and optimized scheduling and planning. We have chosen Quintiq because of the proven track record and its capability of flexible handling and visualization of the processes between strategic planning and operational production scheduling."

The scope of the project entails the detailed scheduling of its production lines, including optimization of the slitting process and supply chain planning between production locations.

Wieland will set up a Quintiq competence center in its head office in Ulm, Germany, to enable a smooth and quick implementation as well as training throughout the Wieland group. Quintiq will be the company wide standard module integrated in the existent IT landscape for scheduling and optimization next to SAP (the company standard for ERP). The project has been kicked off and the individual sites will go live in a phased approach.

The main benefits for Wieland will be a reduction in cost, a better delivery performance and a reduction of its processing scrap.
