Transavia selects Quintiq for aircraft maintenance planning

March 13, 2003 | 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands
Quintiq announces today that has chosen Quintiq software for maintenance planning of its entire fleet. Transavia moves more than four million passengers to more than 70 different sunny destinations, particularly in the Mediterannean sea area. The fleet of 27 aircraft is being utilized as efficiently as possible, a reliable and accurate maintenance planning is very important in this regard.

Willem van Steenis, head of aircraft maintenance at Technical Services with Transavia says: "Transavia has chosen Quintiq because of the significant flexibility to optimize the maintenance planning. Furthermore, we see various other application areas in due time, such as workforce planning."

Transavia will plan the maintenance of aircraft with Quintiq. Goal is to improve the operational planning and achieve higher interval utilization. The interval utilization is the time between two repetitive maintenance tasks. Increasing the interval utilization has two effects: on the one hand it will decrease cost concerning the number of aircraft maintenance technicians needed on the other hand it will create a more efficient use of the airplane parts. This will result in a cost saving, where more can be done with the same number of people. In addition, revenues can increase, because more aircraft become available for commercial purposes.

The implementation will be carried out by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Ab Ovo.
The planning application will be live in May 2003.
