Alunorf Keeps on Improving their Efficiency with Help of Quintiq Tactical Planning

February 15, 2006 | 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands

After using Quintiq for several years Alunorf, the largest aluminium casting and rolling facility in the world, recognizes that efficiency is still growing due to the use of Quintiq's advanced planning and scheduling solutions.

Right after implementation inventories were reduced with 24 per cent, this trend was maintained and at this moment their inventories are 33 per cent less than before the implementation of Quintiq software. In the early stages of using the Quintiq solution their output grew with 24 per cent. Fully exploiting the benefits of the planning tool helped them to grow output to a 36 per cent higher level.

Quintiq enabled us to reduce stock with 33 per cent and increase output by 36 per cent. An improvement of delivery performance from 40 to 90 per cent´

Mr. Bürgel, Head of Planning and Logistics, explains in the following webcast how Quintiq helped them to increase their operating efficiency.

As a player in the ever increasing competitive metals industry, you have recognized some of, if not all, issues raised in the webcast. The quest to continuously reduce inventory, improve lead times and delivery performance whilst searching for the most cost-effective way to do so, proves the common denominator among our customers.

  • Are you able to reliably predict when orders will be delivered to your customers?
  • Are you able to immediately predict the impact of a break down and determine an action plan right away?´
  • Are your inventory levels tuned to the minimal necessary levels to insure you for the variance in your production process?
  • Are you able to accurately provide KPI's for past and future performance?´

The advanced planning and scheduling implementation at Alunorf is just one reference where Quintiq's software has helped to increase operating efficiency. To learn more about the room of improvement within your company please watch the presentation of Dr. Victor Allis, CEO of Quintiq.
