Food Logistics, a leading publication dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global food supply chain, has named Quintiq’s North America Business Unit Director, Peter Shin, to its 2018 Food Logistics Champions: Rock Stars of the Supply Chain award.
The Food Logistics Champions: Rock Stars of the Supply Chain recognizes influential individuals in our industry whose achievements, hard work and vision have shaped and attained milestones in safety, efficiency, productivity and innovation through the global food supply chain. From early pioneers and entrepreneurs to non-conformist thinkers and executive standouts, this award aims to honor these leaders and their contributions to our industry.

Shin’s capability in delivering value through technology has helped Quintiq’s food and beverage customers modernize their operations. His recent initiatives include advising some of the largest US players in protein, dried foods, and wine production as well as enabling logistics improvements for retail grocery and temperature sensitive food distribution.

“This year’s recipients of the Food Logistics Champions: Rock Stars of the Supply Chain award reflect the changing demographics, talent and expertise in our industry,” notes Lara L. Sowinski. “At this same time, these changes usher in new perspectives and energy to an industry that is equally diverse and dynamic.”

“I’m honored to be part of Food Logistics’s impressive list,” said Shin. “It’s an exciting time to be in the industry. Technological advancements like autonomous trucking and IoT will drive faster and more efficient operations. With optimized decision making to accompany the smarter hardware, companies will be able to maximize the return on their investments by ensuring proper attention to the unique operating philosophies that define their brand.”
